Shaping a lasting brand for HMO X.
Brief
PropertyStream was commissioned to create the brand for HMO X—a new venture founded by leading experts in the house in multiple occupation (HMO) investment space. The project came to us through a referral from one of our estate agency clients, a reflection of our reputation as a top branding agency in the property sector. The brief was clear: to develop a bold, timeless brand that communicates expertise, professionalism, and a strong sense of community—positioning HMO X as the go-to name in the HMO market.
Challenges
We needed to deliver a brand that appealed to a wide and varied audience—from first-time investors to seasoned portfolio builders. It had to feel trustworthy, fresh, and built to last. With multiple stakeholders involved, our challenge was to unify vision, tone, and messaging into a brand identity with clarity and longevity.
Our approach
We began by digging deep into HMO X’s personas and goals. With the help of the client’s organised and proactive management team, we mapped audiences across different stages of the investor lifecycle—from aspiring buyers to exit-stage landlords—and produced a tone of voice that was confident, expert and supportive.
Visually, we designed a bold, contemporary identity to reflect the brand’s community-first, future-facing values. Messaging was crafted to speak to both existing and aspiring investors—highlighting HMO X’s full-service ecosystem and powerful network of experts.
The results
The HMO X brand now communicates authority, energy and inclusivity. It positions the business as the only nationwide community for HMO investors offering a complete support system. The strong visual identity—featuring black, white, and teal—paired with expert-driven messaging and a confident tone, builds trust, encourages engagement, and lays the groundwork for lasting impact for our client.
